Jaw-droppingly inept. Having said that, full credit to Pakistan: to be able to field such a competitive team shorn of talents such as Amir and Asif speaks volumes.William, Galway, Ireland.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6957117710153695243.post-1218203100845536482012-01-17T15:18:52.713+13:002012-01-17T15:18:52.713+13:00I think there is a difference between playing Ashw...I think there is a difference between playing Ashwin in a one day match and playing the Pakistani spinners in a test match. Because you have to force the pace in a ODI the bowler gets benefit from bowling full and trying to get the ball under the bat. In a test match that tactic really doesn't work. The bowlers have to bowl a bit shorter, and as a result batsman can generally play them differently.

I wouldn't be surprised if this test was a high scoring draw personally.Mykuhlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16821799061116228138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6957117710153695243.post-80051095011222631452012-01-17T15:11:52.741+13:002012-01-17T15:11:52.741+13:00Agree England should play the extra spinner. Would...Agree England should play the extra spinner. Would be supremely confident had it not been for the implosion in the ODI series in India against Ashwin and co. pre-Xmas. England still have to shake the suspicion that their current eminence is due as much as anything to others' (read: Australia) coming back to the field in the 5-day format.William.
